Beaver Dam man killed in house fire

An early morning house fire claimed the life of a Beaver Dam man Wednesday.

According to a Kentucky State Police (KSP) report, Ohio County Dispatch received a 911 call at 6:22 a.m. from a neighbor regarding a fire at 512 Sandefur Crossing Road.  Beaver Dam Fire Department responded to the call and after the blaze was contained, investigators located a body inside the house.

The body was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office and was identified as the home owner, 52-year-old Thurman Lewis Hayse.

Investigators believe the fire was ignited from a wood burning stove that was inside the home.

The KSP, the Kentucky State Fire Marshal and the Ohio County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate this fire.
