Orena Arnold Renfrow, 98, of Horse Branch passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at her residence located at 3217 Arnold Leach Road. She was born in Muhlenberg County to the late John Henry Arnold and Sultana Ford Arnold.

She retired as a school teacher with the Ohio County School System and also retired at the age of 78 as Postmaster of the Horse Branch Post Office and was a former Avon representative. Mrs. Renfrow was a member of the Horse Branch Christian Church, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, United States Postmasters Association, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and was a collector and a member of the first girls basketball team to go to the Kentucky Girls’ Basketball Tournament.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Renfrow who passed away on June 10, 1987 and one son, J.W. Renfrow, Sr. who passed away on March 29, 2012.

Surviving include one daughter, Linda Rhea (Jack) Yates of Rineyville; one daughter-in- law, Joenell Renfrow of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren, John William (Judy) Renfrow, Jr. of Beaver Dam, Ronnie W. (Jackie) Renfrow of Horse Branch, Kenneth D. Renfrow and Bryan Lee Renfrow both of Beaver Dam and Bonita A. (James Bruce) Oldham of Charlestown, Ind., Greg Yates of Vine Grove, Raybert Yates of Lexington, Bethany (Marzio) Dellagnello of Fredrick, Mass.; fifteen great-grandchildren, Winter Renfrow (Johnathan) Griffith, Courtney Renfrow, Kelly Jo Oldham, Heather (Dane) Corrick, James Bruce Oldham, Cody Renfrow, Robbie Renfrow and Hannah Renfrow, Trevor Dellagnello, Liam Dellagnello, Noah Yates, Jonas Yates, Logan Yates, Holden Yates and Victor Yates; two great-great grandchildren, Matthew Griffith and Dane Corrick.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home, Hartford. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and after 9 a.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
