53 attend OC Eagle Youth Football Camp

Fifty-three future gridders took part in last week’s Ohio County Eagle Youth Football Camp at OCHS’ Barnes Stadium and Fieldhouse.  Ohio County head coach Todd Houston, members of his coaching staff, and varsity players put the 52 through a variety of drills and exercises as well as competitions.

According to Houston, “Youth Football Camp was great!  A lot of good, hard-working kids were with us this week!  It was fun for the players and (for) my staff to work with and get to know the future Eagles of our county.”

Camp award winners included:  Top Offensive Lineman — 1. Robert Zunun, 2. Dillan Payton, 3. Hayden Phelps; Top Linebacker — 1. Chandler Barnett, 2. Tanner Batts, 3. Keenan Baggarly; Top Defensive Lineman — 1. Isaac Smallwood, 2. Wade Everley, 3. Caige Clark; “Sticky Hands” Award — 1. Noah Perkins, 2. Ethan Payton, 3. Bode Abney; Top Defensive Back — 1. Tanner Autry, 2. Ben Wood, 3. Chandler Barnett; Long Ball Award — 1. Michael Griffin, 2. Blaine Casteel, 3. Noah Perkins; Fastest Camper — 1. Nick Morris, 2. Steven Weiler, 3. Noah Perkins.

Those taking part in the 2012 camp included: kindergarten — Hayden Phelps; first grade — Bode Abney, Gunnar Arnold, Ian Goff, Jackson Lindsey, Aiden Nabours, Gillam Nicodemus, Noah Phelps, Aaron Watts, and Will Young; second grade — Teegan Embrey, J.D. Frazier, Kaden Givens, Raley Messer, Bo Morse, and Jacob Reisz; third grade — Blaine Basham, Caige Clark, Reese Clark, Keyan Frames, Eli Hall, and Brenner Raymer; fourth grade — Keenan Baggarly, Alex Beasley, Ethan Embry, Stephen Everly, Kyle Jameson, Dylan Payton, Ethan Payton, Grant Phelps, and Jaxon Renfrow; fifth grade — Tanner Batts, Wade Everley, Isaac King, and Klemmer Nicodemus; sixth grade — Keaton Gary, Kristopher Easterling, Nolan Morris, Nolao Phelps, Tristan Phelps, Isaac Smallwood, Steven Weiler, and Benjamin Wood; seventh grade — Dylan Alsman, Tanner Autry, Chandler Barnett, Blaine Casteel, Kenton Lindsey, Nick Morris, and Robert Zunun; eighth grade — Michael Griffin, Nolan Perkins and Christopher Thompson.
