Sparks in the Park still scheduled for 4th of July
There seems to be a lot of confusion in Ohio County concerning the Sparks in the Park on July 4 at the Ohio County Park. Rumors are swirling that because of the county’s burn ban, which includes fireworks, that the Sparks in the Park has been cancelled. That is not true according to Ohio County’s Emergency Management Director, Charlie Shields.
It’s true the county’s burn ban does prohibit the use of fireworks, but that ban is for personal use of fireworks and never included the county’s annual fireworks show.
According to Shields, the Sparks in the Park is still on for this July 4.
If there are any changes, the Ohio County Monitor will report it.
