Dorothy Jean Smith

Dorothy Jean Smith, 82, formerly of Portland, Ky., formerly of Ohio County, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, Ind. She was a retired 35 year employee of Shedds Foods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark W. Smith, a son Johnny H. Smith, daughters, Karen Whitson and Donna Smith Philpott, and a great-grandson, Zackary Massey.

Survivors include a daughter Theresa Williamson; sons, Mitchell Smith (Judy) and Mark Smith (Theresa); a sister Marguerite Wright; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Monday. July 16, at the Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with the burial at Old Bethel Cemetery in Ohio County.
