DorothyCatherineWilliamsLawsDorothy Catherine Williams Laws, 95, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Professional Care Health & Rehab Center in Hartford, Ky. She was born November 18, 1918, in Escanaba, Mich., to the late Howard Williams and Eva Beaudry Williams.

Mrs. Laws retired as co-owner and clerk of Laws Service Station in Dundee, Ky. She was a member of Saint John’s Catholic Church in Fordsville, Ky., and Ohio County R.S.V.P. and was a charter member of the Dundee Homemakers. Her favorite things to do were attending senior dances and listening to country music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oswyn Dudley Laws, on Oct. 19, 1990, and one son, Robert Laws, on Jan. 30, 2000.

Survivors include five sons, Richard Laws (Marilyn), of Owensboro, James Laws (Barbara) of Dundee and Thomas Laws (Brenda), each of Hartford, William Laws (Lori), of Clinton, Utah, and David Laws (Elisa), of Price, Utah; three daughters, Yvonne Blacklock, of Hartford, Shirley Hancock (Morris), of Sorgho and Judy Stoyell (Jack), of Moravia, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Rev. Ken Geraci and Rev. Troy Richards officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in New Baymus Church Cemetery in Ohio County, Ky.
