Mildred Mary Fisher, 98, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Professional Care Health & Rehab Center in Hartford, Ky. She was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Decatur County, Tenn., to the late William Solomon Holland and Mary Creasy Holland.
Mrs. Fisher, a wife and mother, retired from Hines, Inc. as a cook on tug boats. She was a member of Hartford Christian Church and the Lizzie Ford Chapter 112 Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest N. Fisher in 1967; one daughter, Norma Jean Fisher in 1937 and her sisters, Tera Maners, Zelma Rose, Irma McConnell, Velma Duck, Valeria Maners and one brother, Clifford Holland.
Survivors include three daughters, Loretta Joyce Bennett of Decatur, Ala., Mary Belle Fisher and Karen Fisher Boling, both of Hartford, Ky.; five grandchildren, Joe Bennett (Sherry), Maury Bennett, Dara Bennett Moran, Melissa Boling, Shannon (Michael) Kirtley; 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Mr. Mike Erwin officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro, Ky.
