James William Chancellor, 83, of Centertown, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his home. He was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Centertown to the late Albert Daniel Chancellor and Clara Louise Pillow Chancellor.

He served in the US Army during World War II and fought over seas in the Korean War.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Maude Denny Chancellor; two brothers, Fred Chancellor and Jess Chancellor and one sister, Rosa Mae Duncan.

Survivors include his brother, A.D. “Danny” Chancellor of Centertown; his sister, Mary Lucille Moore of Beaver Dam; his beloved pets, Mary Jane and Worm; four stepchildren, Jerry Chancellor, Tim Chancellor, Pam Passraph, and Lynn Howell, and several nieces and nephews.

Private memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, at Lone Star Baptist Church Cemetery near Centertown with Military Honors provided by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements.
