Gay Carolyn Wydick, 78, of Crossville, Ala., formerly of Ohio County, Ky., passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 at Marshall Medical Center South. She was born May 6, 1936, to the late Cecil and Glenith Ledford.

She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Crossville, Ala., and she worked in the medical field and also in sales for 20 years.

She said often that when she saw God that she hoped to hear him say “Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant.” Everyone who met her knew of her association with God.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jan Drake and one brother, George Ledford.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Mink of Crossville and Dick (Julie) Mink of Lawrenceburg, Ky.; one daughter, Debbie (Jim) Painter of Crossville; two sisters, Barbara (Dalton) Maples of Beaver Dam and Brenda (Lou) Drenner of Highland, Ill.; and one brother, Bill (Gloria) Ledford of Panama City, Fla. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Devan (Cliff) Edwards of Anniston, Ala., Amy (Casey) Formby of Maysville, N.C., and Shane Mink of Lawrenceburg, Ky., and three great-grandchildren, Camille Edwards, Jacob Edwards, and Amelia Formby.

Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home, with Rev. Scott Fleener officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
