MyrlBlomquist1Myrl Greenwell Blomquist, 81, of Owensboro, Ky., died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Heartford House in Owensboro. She was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late William E. and Mary Evelyn Tipmore Greenwell.

She was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Winsome Class, and a longtime member of Jubilee Homemakers (she loved being with these ladies). She loved to play Scrabble, reading (especially her Bible) and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Bill, Jr. and Ronnie and sisters, Betty Ambs, Virginia Poulter and Ann Curtis.

MyrlBlomquist2She was married to Kenneth E. Blomquist for 61 years. She was the mother of Kenna Carden (Dwight) of St. Louis, Mo., Jean Ann Harmon (Frank) and Carol Bordes (Jon), both of Owensboro, Brian Blomquist (Brenda) of Indianapolis, Ind., and Camilla Quillin (Todd) of Nashville, Tenn.; the grandmother of Sarah, Katie, Emily and Blake Blomquist, Leah Harmon Rhodes (Blain), Jeff Harmon and Lexi Quillin; the sister of Dorothy Louise Embry, Katie McCollom, Cathryn Wigginton, Phyllis Newton, Jane Ransom, Jim Greenwell and Wayne Greenwell.

Myrl’s family would like to express their thanks to Hospice and Dr. Tamberly McCoy for their care.

Services are 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro, with Dr. Greg Faulls officiating. Burial is in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
