Robert W. Dockery, 88, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at the Beaver Dam Nursing Home and Rehab. The Butler County native, was born Monday, June 14, 1926, to the late Herman and Minnie Kowen Dockery.
He was a member of Barnetts Lick Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Anderson Wood Products in Louisville, Ky. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Ethel Embry Dockery; two stepsons, Stevie and Tommy Dockery; one granddaughter, Sandra Frank, six brothers and two sisters.
Robert W. Dockery is survived by his wife, Imogene Dockery, of Morgantown, Ky.; six daughters, Nina Sage, of Ohio, Darlene Henderson, of Louisville, Ky., Reva George, of Louisville, Ky., Bobby Henderson, of Louisville, Ky., Sue George, of Louisville, Ky., and Sheila Lucus, of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Ovie Dockery, of Florida; four stepsons, Michial, Billy, Jackie and Mark Dockery, all of Morgantown, Ky.; one stepdaughter, Robin Hawes, of Ohio County, Ky.; one sister, Corine Snodgrass, of Morgantown, Ky.; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren and 11 stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday Sept. 6, at 12 p.m. with Bro. Chad Bewley officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will begin Friday, Sept. 5, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. until funeral time at 12 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
