Robert Dale Sheffield, 60, of Beaver Dam, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to the late Wendell and Delores Townsley Sheffield.

Dale was retired from Ford Motor Company where he was a painter, he served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division, he was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post 0101 in Lowell, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rhonda Greer, and a brother, Tony Sheffield.

Survivors include three sons, Wendell Sheffield of Lowell, Ind., Keith Slaman and Mikel Slaman, both of Spring Hill, Fla.; a daughter, Shannon Sheffield of California; a brother, Michael Sheffield, of Lowell, Ind.; two sisters, Theresa (Max) Zinka, of Lowell, Ind., Sandra Hayes, of Lowell, Ind.; four aunts, Holly Bolton, of Lowell, Ind., Colleen Grant, of Florida, Judy Kessinger and family, of Centertown, Mae “Peggy” Boyd and family; two uncles, Jack Sheffield and family, of Cromwell, Bobby Sheffield and family, of Centertown; and his best friend, Mathew Canty.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Mathew Canty officiating. Burial will be in Centertown Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented by the Ohio County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
