Nealie H. Smith Sr., 72, of Beaver Dam, Ky., formerly of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014, at Ohio County Hospital. Nealie was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Butler County, Ky., to the late Less and Beulah Fleming Smith.
He was a retired logger.
Nealie is preceded in death by his parents and one son, John T. Smith.
Nealie H. Smith, Sr., is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Phelps Smith, of Beaver Dam, Ky.; one son, Nealie H. Smith, Jr., wife Jayme, of Beaver Dam, Ky.; one daughter, Angela Phelps, husband Chris, of Morgantown, Ky.; one brother, Alford Smith, of Morgantown; one sister, Juanita Hatcher, husband Darrell, of Morgantown, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, at 12 p.m. with Bro. Timmy Hall officiating. Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 10, from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. until funeral time at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
