Thomas L. Mattingly, Sr.

Thomas L. Mattingly, Sr., 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born Aug. 23, 1938, in Breckenridge County to the late Charles Robert and Mary Louis Gray Mattingly.

Thomas was retired from the Department of Transportation in Illinois and was of the Baptist faith.

Also preceding him in death is his wife, Joan Mattingly, on April 18, 2014, a brother, Harold Mattingly, and a sister, Margie Anders.

Surviving are a son, Thomas Mattingly, Jr., of Owensboro; two daughters, Anna Fuqua, of Philpot, and Mary Thompson, of Ashland City, Tenn., 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four brothers, Henry, Danny, and Charles Robert Mattingly, all of Owensboro, and Ralph Mattingly, of Beaver Dam, a sister, Doranna Mattingly, of Butler County, several nieces and nephews, and close friends, Terry McCarty, Patty Wilkerson, and Sheila Kelley.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Owensboro Center and in I.C.U. at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for the compassionate care they gave Mr. Mattingly.
