MarjorieCartwrightMarjorie T. Cartwright, 83, of Morgantown, Ky., went home to be with the Lord on Monday Nov. 24, 2014, at her residence. Marjorie was born on Saturday Oc. 31, 1931, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Moscow and Amy Phelps Taylor.

She was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church where she was very active in many of the ministries in the church. She was a member of Gasper River Association Quilting Ministry, past deputy PVA, worked in garment industry for many years, retired department manager at Walmart and homemaker. Marjorie loved her family, church, sewing and cooking.

Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Virgil Taylor, and one sister, Virginia Hardin.

Marjorie T. Cartwright is the beloved wife, mother, and grandmother to her husband of 53 years, James “Jim” Cartwright, of Morgantown, Ky.; two daughters, Cynthia Barrow, husband William, of Morgantown, Ky., and Felicia McLean, husband Robert “Bob,” of Bowing Green, Ky.; one son, Michael White, wife Jennifer, of Morgantown, Ky.; three granddaughters, Leslie Meyer, husband Mark, of Louisville, Ky., Kayla Barrow, of Morgantown, Ky., and Kate Barrow, of Richmond, Ky.; one grandson, Michael White Jr., wife Marie, of Leitchfield, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Elijah Barrow, of Morgantown, Ky., and Carter Franklin, of Morgantown, Ky.; three sisters, Joyce Coots, husband Leon, of Louisville, Ky., Jean Neel, of Glasgow, Ky., and Alice Weathers, husband Ronald, of Morgantown, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church Saturday Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Donnie Fox and Bro. Roger Taylor officiating with burial in the Hill Haven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 28, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel and Saturday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church.
