RubyAlmodaVanoverRalphRuby Almoda Vanover Ralph, 87 of Natchitoches, La., went to be with the Lord on Dec. 8, 2014, at Natchitoches Rehabilitation Center. She was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Daviess County, Ky.

She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening, coloring with grandkids and was known as one of the greatest country cooks around.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ralph; her parents, Martin Odel Vanover and Agnes Hemmingway Miles; a brother, Clifford Vanover; a daughter-in-law, Zonia Carmen; and her step mother, Geneva Vanover.

Survivors include three sons, James O. Ralph, of Whitesville, Dennis M. Ralph (Judith), of Reynolds Station, and Ricky V. Ralph (Martha), of Whitesville; three daughters, Charlotte A. Swords, (Tony) of Natchitoches, La., Connie G. Boling (Timmy), of Reynolds Station, and Pamela G. Howard (Barry), of Natchitoches, La.; a half-brother, Gary Vanover (Jane), of Owensboro; and several grandkids, great-grandkids, and great- great-grandkids.

Funeral services are at 12 p.m. Friday at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville. Burial is at Ralph Cemetery in Ohio County, Ky. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. – See more at: www.cecilfuneralhome.com.
