Kay F. Bevil, 80, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Berlin, Mo., to the late Maurice and Melva Freeman Ferguson.

She was a retired secretary from Daviess County High School and a member of Bethabara Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Carson Bevil; a son, Dewayne Bevil, of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Marianne (Steve) Short, of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Phillip Ferguson, of Chino Valley, Ariz.; and two grandsons, Robert Benton Short and Charles Carson Short.

Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Bethabara Baptist Church in Habit, Ky., with Dr. Bill Tichenor and Dr. T.A. Prickett officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. unti 8 p.m. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam and from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the church.
