Doris Jean Smith, 79, of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born May 31, 1935, in Jefferson County to the late Berry and Ina Murphy Anderson.
She attended Old Salem Baptist Church in Horse Branch and she was a caregiver.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Earl Smith, four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Timothy (Linda) Smith, of Horse Branch, William (Shannon) Sharp, of Louisville, Darrell Sharp, of Louisville; two daughters, Theresa (Doug) Calloway, of Beaver Dam, and Gina Sharp, of Louisville; one brother, Jim (Brenda) Anderson, of Elizabeth, Ind.; six grandchildren, Adam (Ravan) Calloway, Brittany (John) Smith, Megan (Nathan) Henderson, Stephanie (Dustan) Wagner, Angela (Cain) Pierce and Christopher (Trina) Smith; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Troy Richards and Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be in Carson Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
