Jean B. Parsley, 87, of Beaver Dam passed away, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Heartford House in Owensboro. She was born July 13, 1927, in Rockport, Ind., to the late Emry and Helen Carter Boyd.
Jean and Bill owned and operated Coast to Coast Hardware Store in Beaver Dam, member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church, lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star, she was an active member of the Ohio County Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Thomas “Bill” Parsley; two brothers, Paul Boyd and Jr. Boyd; and one sister, Helen Marie Boyd.
Survivors include one son, Thomas William (Tammy) Parsley, of Guntersville, Ala.; two daughters, Joan Ellen (Dan) Shepherd, of Guntersville, and Beverly (Philip) Teegarden, of Elkhart, Ind.; one sister, Georgia Rose Boorman, of Danville, Ky. Jean was blessed with seven grandchildren, Christopher (Nancy) Baldwin, Brent (Elizabeth) Baldwin, Stephen Shepherd, Kathryn Shepherd, Samantha Parsley (Will) Reaves, Kristen Parsley (Denton) Gillen, and Dillen (Amber) Parsley; and eight great-grandchildren, Ally, Ashley, Sam, Sydney, Garrett, Maria, Brady, Joseph. She was very fond of her many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Keith Switzer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockport, Ind. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
