Martha Elizabeth Mitchell, 88, of Dundee passed away March, 25, 2015, at the home of Donna Montgomery. She was born Jan. 19, 1927 in Centertown, Ky., to the late Frank and Louisa Kuykendall.
Martha was a member of Dundee Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for 42 years. She graduated from Brescia College with a degree in accounting and retired from the Kentucky State Auditor’s Office.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gilmore Mitchell on Sept. 5, 2006; a sister, Virginia Beckham; and a brother, Winston Kuykendall.
Martha is survived by a cousin, Jerry Bishop, of Gilbertsville; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Kuykendall, of Owensboro; and two god-children; Holli Elizabeth McDaniel, of Bowling Green, and Kristi Mae Brown, of Beaver Dam.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with visitation before the service starting at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hartford. Reverend Troy Richards will officiate.
