Charles Edward Grogan, 77, of Bremen, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at 8:58 a.m. at Baptist Health in Madisonville. Mr. Grogan was born Aug. 10, 1937, in Calloway County.

He was a retired coal miner and member of Powderly Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, O.J. and Mildred Grogan; sister Shirley Swift; and five grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Shemwell Grogan; sons, Darren (Lisa) Grogan, of Bremen, Barry (Teresa) Grogan, of Bremen, Jared (Pam) Grogan, of Bremen, Anthony (Natalie) Grogan, of Hartford, and Wesley (Kim) Grogan, of Bremen; daughters, Gina (Steve) Morris, Vanessa VanMeter, and Laura (Jamie) Knight, all of Bremen; 27 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Eva Woods and Mary Turner, both of Murray.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 1, at 2 p.m. at Powderly Holiness Church in Powderly, officiated by Bro. Larry Shemwell, Bro. Gary Joines, and Bro. Joel Clover. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday after 5 p.m. at the church. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
