GlennStewartGlen Stewart, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at his residence. He was born on March 29, 1929, in Echols, to the late Lofton D. and Mary Jane Fulkerson Stewart.

He was a member of Rockport Baptist Church, U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and retired electrician for Peabody Coal Company. Glen also was a member IBEW and worked on many building across the country such as the Time Life Building in New York. He was very proud of climbing to the top of the TVA Smoke Stacks where he put the lights on them. Glen was avid hunter enjoying turkey, deer, and quail hunting with his bird dogs.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Stewart and Duane “Buck” Stewart.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years Coleen Hoskins Stewart, of Rockport; one son, Joel Seth (Marcia) Stewart, of Echols; one daughter, Leah Michelle Stewart, of Rockport; two sisters-n-law, Margie Stewart and Hilma Stewart, both of Beaver Dam. Glen was blessed with two grandchildren, Justin Bradley Stewart, and Allison Renee Stewart; and one great-grandchild, Casen Wyatt Stewart, and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Jayden Bullock, and Aiden Bullock.

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 29, at William L. Danks Funeral Home, in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Charles Brownd and Rev. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will be in Pond Run Cemetery in Echols with military honors provided by the Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday and 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
