AlleneGrayMillerPipesAllene Gray Miller Pipes, 83, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015, at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford, Ky. She was born July 21, 1931, in Haynesville, Ky., to the late D.M. “Shorty” Miller, Sr., and Loyce Wilson Miller.

Mrs. Pipes was a homemaker, member Hartford Christian Church, and Junior Women’s Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, D.M. Miller, Jr.; and two brother-in-laws, Jack Ward and Truman Cavender.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Pipes, of Hartford; one daughter, Sharon (Allan) James, of Newburgh, Ind.; one son, Freddie (Melinda) Pipes, of Hartford; six grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Taylor, Melea Pipes (Mario) Segovia, Elise Pipes, Tyler Pipes, Jeff (Marlene) James, and Kevin James; seven great-grandchildren, Ainsley Taylor, Addison, Miguel and Alayna Segovia, Gillian, Meredith and Hadley James; three sisters, Betty Ward of Tacoa, Ga., Barbara Cavender, of Centertown, and Carolyn (Gene) Whittaker, of Hartford; one sister-in-law, Ann Miller Hartford; one brother, Robert “Bobby Joe” (Betty) Miller, of Covington, Ga.; several nieces and nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 19, at Hartford Christian Church in Hartford, Ky., with Rev. David Cordrey and Bro. Mickey Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Ky. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford.
