TeddyGordonStinnettTeddy Gordon Stinnett, 78, of Owensboro, Ky., died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital as the result of a bicycle accident. He was born July 12, 1937 in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Gordon and Ilo Wilkins Stinnett.

He had been employed by Peabody Coal Company and Commonwealth Aluminum. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Joe Ellis Masonic Lodge #473 of Pleasant Ridge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Turner and Judy Young, and by a brother, Jerry Stinnett.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sylvia Stinnett; a daughter, Lisa Means, of Owensboro; two grandsons, Christopher and Brandon Means; two sisters, Lucy Daniel (Carl), of Texas and Patsy Vance (Greg), of Hartford, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, at the Chapel of James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday and after 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial is in Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County, Ky.
