BettySueLewisBrownGoateeBetty Sue Lewis Brown Goatee, 76, of Centertown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born May 26, 1939, in Livia, Ky., to the late Robert and Elizabeth Earle Mackey Lewis.

She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church in McLean County, she was a private duty care giver most of her life, worked at GE, and worked as a florist. Betty loved caring for others, gardening, and fishing.

Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles E.Lewis, and sister, Elma Catherine Alsip.

Survivors include her husband, Sam W. Goatee, of Centertown; children, Pam (Brad) Cox, of Owensboro, Janet (Tracy) Coltson, of Centertown, Greg (Lori) Beller, of Owensboro; two step sons, Steven Goatee and Matthew (Shannon) Goatee, both of Ohio County; and sister-n-law, Opal Lewis. Betty was blessed with seven grandchildren, Crystal (Brett) Langton, Brandon (Dawn) Wheeler, Bethany (John) Snider, Zachary Cox, Lance, Houston, and Garrison Beller; two stepgrandchildren, Brock and Brody Lofton, and five great-grandchildren, BrieAnna Thacker, Cordell and CyLeigh Langton, Keira and Aubrey Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Buck Creek Baptist Church in McLean County with Rev. Tommy Webb and Rev. Tim Hall officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service at Buck Creek Baptist Church.
