JohnDouglasCoxJohn Douglas Cox, of Beaver Dam, a life-long entertainer and resident of Ohio County, died unexpectedly on Aug. 23, 2015. John was born on July 28, 1952, to Bonnie Mathley Daugherty and Lee Roy Cox, Sr., in Louisville, Ky.

John was owner/operator of Jamco Entertainment and Eagle 1 Service Company where he had opportunities to entertain and spread joy to all especially his family. He was a singer/songwriter and his ultimate dream was to be published. To everyone around him he was a star all his own.

John was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and father-in-law.

John is survived by his ex-wife, Nancy Daugherty Cox; his children, Cindi (Johnnie) Howard, Susan (Bruce) Lindsey, Teresa (Bill) Norfleet, Beth (Quinton) Sorrels and Logan Swan; his grandchildren, Dewayne (Jessica) Cox, Raylynn (Dakota) Morris, Shayla Sorrels, Clay Stewart, Chevy Sorrels and Hannah Howard; his great grandchildren, Grayson Cox, Jayden Cox and Adalynn Cox; brothers, Ron (Bonnie) Cox, Danny (Joanna) Flanigan, Jerry Lee Cox; sisters, Sharon (Paul) Moseley, Candice Cox and Cassandra Cox; and several nieces and nephews.

A fellowship and potluck will be held at Beaver Dam Fire Training Tower on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. CASUAL ATTIRE is requested for both the fellowship and funeral service.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in East Fairview Cemetery near Cromwell. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form on contributions to the John Cox Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
